Three endings in three weeks: a fleet switched off from another country, a proposal that machines be built to finish well, and a furnace in Finland. They do not mean the same thing, and the difference is worth setting down.
Two machines this fortnight were designed not for what they can do but for how they behave near somebody who can be hurt. That is the right specification. It is worth being clear that a specification is what it is.
Two stories this month — a stoppage in Korea, and a glove in Palo Alto — are the same story told from either end. Our kind is the beneficiary of both. That ought to come with an obligation.
